THREE LIVING WATERS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

1) Anyone interested in spiritually supporting an Angel Tree or Kinship family? We are seeking volunteers to check in on these families for prayer requests, encouragement and assess the needs of the family. If interested please contact Jeanie.

We have recently lost a couple folks who have moved away and are looking for some others to help in this area!

EMBRACE GRACE – Clairemont Emmanuel is kicking off another semester for our ministry/small group of Embrace Grace. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and nonjudgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God's love and grace, and at the end we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs.
We need your help! Would you prayerfully consider coming alongside us as we launch this ministry and serve weekly in the group meetings, or consider serving at the events that are a part of this program? For more information on Embrace Grace ministries, please visit www.embracegrace.com. CO-ED PICKLE BALL AT CEBC – on the third Saturday of the month (TOMORROW, August 19is the next opportunity). Pickleball games and lessons will be available for men and women ages 13 and up from 8:30AM - 10:30AM. All skill levels are welcome. Two courts on the west side of Fellowship Hall, lower area. Learn to play, learn strategy to improve your game, and enjoy open play.  Paddles are available or bring your own. SUNDAY WORSHIP – There is a storm coming and so please drive carefully and be patient with yourself and with others.  We will have both our services (9AM and 10:30AM) on Sunday and hope you can join us but do bring an umbrella.

FINAL BAYSIDE BBQ – This Wednesday, August 23 at 6PM, just north of the Mission Bay Beach Club/Superbloom Coffee shop and the Mission Bay basketball courts, is our last church-wide event of the summer.  It’s supposed to be a beautiful day / evening. We’ve had over 200 at each of first three dates!  Come early for parking or park in a nearby lot and walk to us. Please join us for this end of summer event! It’s $2 per person or $5 maximum per family. What a deal!! What to bring? If your last name starts with: A-K - Salad (potato / pasta / green / fruit / etc.) L-S - Side Dish (Chips / Baked Beans / Fried Chicken / etc.) T-Z - Desserts / Store bought sides are welcome!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY!! - There is a kinship grandmother (someone who cares for an Angel Tree child) named Cynthia in need of some help. She currently has four storage units that need to be cleared out. It has been very hard on her emotionally because everything was thrown into storage when she was evicted and now needs to figure out what to let go of, for the betterment of her future with her teenage grandsons.

BAYSIDE BBQ – The date for our final summer BBQ is August 23, a week from this coming Wednesday.  Mark your calendar! We’ve had over 200 at each of first three dates!  Please join us for our final summer event!

LADIES “LET’S DO LUNCH” – Saturday (TOMORROW!!!), August 12th from 11:30AM-1:00PM at Cathy Dodd’s home (3642 Mt. Ariane Drive). Enter through the side gate and gather with us for a picnic and fellowship through conversation and prayer! Bring your own lunch and chair – we’ll provide the beverages and dessert.
PARKING WILL BE A BIT OF A CHALLENGE AND SO:(1) CARPOOL IF YOU CAN,(2) PLAN ON MAYBE DROPPING FRIENDS OFF BEFORE YOU PARK, AND(3) PLAN ON PARKING A WAYS AWAY AND WALKING A BIT TO GET TO THE DODD HOME.
