THE MISSIONS COURSE AT CLAIREMONT EMMANUEL – 6PM Sunday evenings starting January 21st. Cost per person is $50. Register on-line (only) through themissionscourse.com. We believe God has an important role for you – and the Church – to play in The Great Commission. The Missions Course exists to help you discover that. Formatted as a six-week course, The Missions Course will introduce you to God’s heart for the nations and invite you to discover and play your role in it – whether here or overseas!

 

WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS EVENT - Christmas party on the Sanctuary patio, “Ladies It’s Cold Outside,” Friday December 1, 6:30PM. Holiday desserts, hot beverages, and carols, with a short devotional and gospel invitation, so invite an unchurched friend! Stop by our ministry table for information, invitations, and to register by November 26.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD CONTINUES THIS WEEK AT CEBC!!!  –   This year CEBC will continue to partner with Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse. OCC partners with local churches around the world to provide shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  In addition to the shoebox, OCC will invite boys & girls who receive shoeboxes to participate in a follow-up discipleship program called “The Greatest Journey.”  Through 12 lessons, the child learns how to faithfully follow Jesus and tell others about Him.  Last week, people took 150 shoeboxes.  Additional 200 will be available on the patio THIS Sunday (November 5th).  All shoeboxes need to be returned to the Living Water’s table by THIS Sunday, November 12th.  Please consider being a part of this ministry as it shows God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.   If you should have any questions about the ministry or how you can participate, please contact Paul Champlin at 619-209-1237.

 

CHRISTIAN LIFE AND WITNESS COURSE TOMORROW – In preparation for an early March visit to San Diego by Franklin Graham, if you’d like to counsel people who come forward, you need to attend this class.  EVEN IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVANGELISTIC MEETINGS, THIS IS A VERY HELPFUL COURSE TO TAKE!  You are encouraged to do so!

 

 

ANGEL TREE IS COMING! ANGEL TREE IS COMING!!! – It’s that time of the year again as CEBC will be participating in the Angel Tree ministry of Prison Fellowship. Since 1982, Angel Tree has delivered more than 11 million Christmas gifts and the gospel message to children across the USA. You can help change a life of a child by participating in our Angel Tree ministry outreach. Angels will be available starting Sunday, November 26. PRIMETIMERS LAMB’S PLAYERS & LUNCHEON – Thanks to all of you who signed up for the Primetimers Lamb’s Players Christmas presentation to be held Wednesday, November 29th at 11:30AM. As of today, all tickets for the show have been taken and there is now a wait list. For those who have signed up for the show but have not paid, your payment is due no later than next Sunday, November 12th. If you do not pay by the 12th you will be dropped from the list. CHILDREN MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – A lot of children are a blessing.  That also means that we have need for a lot of volunteers to help out.  Some folks have responded (Thank you!!) but we are still looking for dedicated leaders to minister to our children on Sunday mornings. LIVING WATERS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

1. We are in need of donations of men's socks (size 9-11) to fill our Thanksgiving gift bags for the homeless.Donations can be dropped off at 4347 Mount Henry Ave 92117

SILENT VOICES –Although they do not have a table on the patio, we have the opportunity to help restock the Silent Voices pantry with baby supplies (diapers, blankets, baby wipes, personal hygiene items, clothing, etc.). Silent Voices is a Christian pro-life pregnancy center founded and run by member Sharon Pearce, that provides life-affirming alternatives to abortion, and support to mothers and babies in our community who need help. EMBRACE GRACE – Clairemont Emmanuel is kicking off another semester for our ministry/small group of Embrace Grace. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and nonjudgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God’s love and grace, and at the end we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs.

       We need your help! Would you prayerfully consider coming alongside us as we launch this ministry and serve weekly in the group meetings, or consider serving at the events that are a part of this program? For more information on Embrace Grace ministries, please visit www.embracegrace.com. PRAYER AND ENCOURAGEMENT – If you’re aware of people who are sick, or stuck at home, or just lonely, pray for them and, by all means, give them a call!  Many of them have been contacted by you and been so encouraged! Will you pick someone from our church family to especially pray for this week and please call them or drop them a note to let them know you love them and are praying for them.

 

AFTER-SERVICE PRAYER – We will continue to invite people to come forward for prayer at the end of the service.  Please know that this is an invitation for you to come forward and pray about anything that God has put on your heart.  Of course to know the Lord, or to make spiritual decisions, but also to pray for anything personal you’d like prayer for. You might have a special prayer request for family, friends, work, etc.  Maybe it’s on your heart to come and pray for our pastors, missionaries, staff, youth, children, or one of our other ministries, etc.  Our team is available to pray with you about anything God puts on your heart. Please come and join us. 

 

PARKING – As much as possible, we want to leave our parking lots at church for those who may be somewhat infirm and for families.  So, if you’re young and/or able-bodied, could you please park on one of the nearby streets.  Thank you.

FALLFEST • Thank you so much to all who came, invited friends, and especially those who volunteered.  We had over 500 who attended and around half were guests from the community.  Pray for those who came to be pointed to Jesus.  Please invite any friends of yours to come back and join us for a service.  People who are thinking of visiting a church, come most often in the months of November and December and so keep inviting your friends over these next couple months!

1. We are in need of donations of men's socks (size 9-11) to fill our Thanksgiving gift bags for the homeless.Donations can be dropped off at 4347 Mount Henry Ave 92117

 

2. Please join us Sunday 11/12 in Fellowship Hall directly after the second service to fill gift bags for our homeless guests at We See You for their Thanksgiving meal.

CO-ED PICKLE BALL AT CEBC – on the third Saturday of the month (next time will be on Saturday, November 18) Pickleball games and lessons will be available for men and women aged 13 and up from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM. All skill levels are welcome. Two courts on the west side of the Fellowship Hall, lower area. Learn to play, learn strategy to improve your game and open play.  Paddles available or bring your own.
